Therapeutic Massage: Relieves pain, reduces muscle tension, and promotes healing by improving circulation, muscle flexibility, and overall mobility.
Manual Therapy/Joint Mobilization: Enhances joint function and reduces pain by breaking adhesions and improving tissue extensibility, essential for preventing stiffness and disability.
Therapeutic Exercise: Restores mobility, strength, and quality of life through targeted exercises, aiding in pain management and overall physical and emotional well-being.
Therapeutic Laser Treatment: Uses advanced Class 4 lasers to reduce pain, inflammation, and accelerate healing for various acute and chronic conditions.
Gait Analysis/Training: Assesses walking and trotting patterns to identify abnormalities and track progress, helping tailor rehabilitation programs.
Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS): Alleviates pain and muscle tension by delivering low-voltage electrical currents to block pain signals and improve circulation.
Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation (NMES): Stimulates muscle contractions to strengthen and re-educate muscles, preventing atrophy and enhancing movement.
Assisted Devices (Braces, Orthotics, Ramps, Harnesses, Carts): Supports mobility and recovery with tools that improve function and reduce joint stress.
Nutrition and Weight Loss/Optimization Program: Provides personalized dietary plans to manage weight, enhance health, and improve overall well-being.
Fitness and Conditioning: Boosts health and performance with sport-specific training and conditioning protocols, incorporating both clinic and home exercises.
Cryotherapy/Cold Therapy: Reduces pain and inflammation through cooling, aiding in muscle recovery and managing acute injuries.
Heat Therapy: Alleviates pain and muscle tension by increasing blood flow and improving joint flexibility through heat application.
Pulse Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMF): Uses electromagnetic pulses to reduce pain and inflammation, accelerate healing, and enhance mobility.
Home Exercise Program: Provides customized exercises to improve mobility and strength, with regular updates reflecting progress in rehabilitation or fitness plans.
Nail Trims: Regular trims reduce joint stress and improve posture, encouraging more natural movement patterns essential for rehabilitation success.
Restorative Phase:
Goal: Aims to improve function and recovery, typically after an injury or surgery, with a structured, intensive treatment plan.
Outcome: This is a focused 4-6 week period where the patient is seen more frequently, typically 1-2 times per week, depending on the specific case. The goal is to improve function and recovery, often following an injury or surgery. A progress recheck is conducted at the end of this bout to determine if the patient requires another restorative bout, can transition to a maintenance plan, take a break, or be discharged from rehabilitation.
Golden Paws Maintenance Phase:
Goal: Aims to preserve current function and prevent deterioration, with less frequent, ongoing treatments to sustain progress.
Outcome: Designed for patients, especially those with chronic conditions like arthritis, this plan involves less frequent visits, such as once every two weeks, once a month, or every three months. The goal is to preserve the patient’s current function and prevent deterioration, with ongoing monitoring for changes in functional status. If regression in function is observed, the patient may transition back to a restorative bout of care.
Golden Paws Maintenance Program:
Program Designed for: Patients discharged from an initial bout of rehabilitation (post-surgical, OA, age-related mobility deficits). The Golden Paws Maintenance Program is designed to maintain physical health and improve the quality of life for aging animals experiencing mobility and functional deficits as well as animals who have graduated from our initial rehabilitation program and can still benefit from regular rehabilitation on a less frequent basis.
- Includes: One-on-one consultation with certified rehab therapist, physical examination, stance and gait analysis, functional measures/tests, and ortho/neuro-specific exams as needed.
- Outcome: A detailed, long-term Treatment Plan with follow-up rehab sessions, progress check appointment, and a customized Home Exercise Program tailored to your pet’s specific needs.
