Grooming and Bathing Services at LVH

Our Philosophy:

We are committed to working with every pet in a way that causes as little stress as possible during the grooming process. This may mean shaving down matted pets instead of trying to brush them out. This may mean that we need to have the pet come in to see Christy Anne more frequently so that there is a bond of trust between the patient and her. In special cases, that means we work closely with the doctors on staff to use medical means to reduce stress. Together, we can find a way to make grooming more comfortable for all!

Grooming at Lombard Veterinary Hospital:

A benefit of using a groomer located at your Veterinary Hospital is our groomers can consult with our medical team while your cat or dog is still at the hospital, should a question arise during the grooming. Often this saves you a trip back into the hospital regarding conditions your groomer may notice such as skin irritations and new growths. Also, treatment may be initiated immediately. Many clients enjoy the convenience of scheduling a grooming appointment for their pet towards the end of a boarding visit. As a veterinary hospital, our primary concern is the health and well-being of your furry friend, so you can rest assured that they will be in the most qualified hands.

As a service to you, our grooming team is delighted to meet you in person to provide a complimentary consultation and quote for their professional services. Grooming services are highly personal, it is best to work directly with our groomers in setting up appointments and receiving pricing information. Please contact us for more information about our grooming services or to set up a grooming appointment. You may reach our Grooming Department by calling or emailing them at (630) 627-7090 or [email protected].

Why is Regular Grooming Important and When Should It Start?

We encourage all dog and cat owners to maintain a regular grooming schedule for their pets. Consistent grooming not only keeps your pet looking their best, but it also promotes their overall well-being. Proper grooming, including bathing and nail trimming, ensures your pet stays comfortable while maintaining healthy skin and fur. We use all-natural shampoos tailored to meet your pet’s specific needs. Regular grooming also helps us identify potential skin conditions or growths early on. While we can teach you some at-home grooming tasks, like nail trimming for well-behaved pets, most grooming procedures are best handled by our skilled professionals. We’re happy to work with you to establish an ideal grooming schedule for your cherished companion. We recommend introducing grooming to pets as early and as consistently as possible to help them become familiar with the process. This early exposure helps minimize fear and anxiety during grooming sessions. Our groomers are particularly skilled with puppies experiencing their first haircut, ensuring a gentle and reassuring approach that helps them feel comfortable. This positive first grooming experience sets the foundation for a lifetime of enjoyable pampering.

IL State Practice Act VCPR Rules:

We are happy to schedule an appointment with one of our Veterinarians prior to setting up your grooming appointment. Please call us at (630) 627-7090 to schedule your appointment.

Vaccination Requirements:

All dogs must be current with Rabies, DA2PP, Bordetella (within the last 6 months), Lepto vaccinations, and Canine Influenza. All cats need to be current with Rabies & FCCP.

Capturing Images and Videos During Grooming Services:

Occasionally, we may take photos and videos of your pet during their grooming appointment for marketing or training purposes. At check-in, you will be asked to sign a photo release form permitting us to capture this content. Rest assured, we only share your pet’s name and no other personal information.
