The holidays are in full swing. We are lucky to be surrounded by many amazing local light shows, a few that are drive through ones and others where you have to walk to see the beauty! We’ve compiled a list of shows you can bring your pets to and others that they will have to unfortunately have to stay home.

Hughes Digital Christmas

Location: 2S231 Valley Rd. Lombard, IL. 60148

Hughes Digital Christmas is right here in Lombard! This homeowner uses close to 40,000 lights that are all synchronized to your favorite Christmas songs! The HDC will start operating on the Saturday after Thanksgiving and run until New Years Night. The show runs daily from 5:00 PM until 11:00 PM. In order to hear the music you will have to tune into 89.5 FM on your radio!

Aurora Festival of Lights

Location: Phillips Park Entrance is Smith Blvd. at 5th Ave.

Returning for the 15th year, is the Aurora Festival of Lights, which is one of the largest free outdoor holiday light displays in the Chicagoland area! People who attend will enjoy over a mile of beautiful decorations, many that are animated. Last year, the festival had roughly 50,000 cars come through! The festival will run daily starting November 26th through December 26th from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM. This year it is required to get a ticket. You can make that free reservation by clicking here.

Let it Shine Light Show

Location: Aurora, Northbrook, and Schaumburg

The Let it Shine Light Show has three separate locations throughout the area. Each location is different from the other one. However all of the locations have over one million lights, only 1 ticket needed per vehicle, and are socially safe! You will need to purchase a ticket, which can be done by clicking here.

Willow Hill's Winter Magic

Location: 1350 Willow Rd. Northbrook, IL. 60062

Taking over the WIllow Hill’s Golf Course in Northbrook is the first annual Willow Hill’s Winter Magic Drive-Thru Christmas Lights Event. There are over one million lights plus many displays that contain a wide range of characters plus 50 Christmas trees! This brand new event opened on November 20th and goes through January 2nd. They are open seven days a week from 4:30 PM until 10:30 PM. You will need one ticket per car, which you can purchase here.

As mentioned above we do have a list of a few events that you should look into attending but will have to leave your four legged friends at home.

Holiday Lights in Lilacia Park

Location: 150 S. Park Ave, Lombard, IL. 60148

One of the best local shows in our area is right down the street from us at Lilacia Park! The lights show kicks off on December 4th and runs through January 2nd. It will be open from 4:30 PM until 10:00 PM daily. Throughout the duration of the nightly events, Santa and Rudolph will be making multiple appearances.

Holiday Magic at Brookfield Zoo

Location: 8400 W. 31st St, Brookfield, IL. 60513

Back again is the Holiday Magic at Brookfield Zoo. There are over two million lights and so many activities for you and your family to enjoy! The event starts on November 26th. The dates of operation vary throughout the holiday season, they are as follows:

Friday through Sunday, November 26th-28th

Wednesday through Sunday, December 1st-5th, 8th-12th, 15th-19th

Sunday through Friday, December 26th-31st

3:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Amaze Light Festival

Location: 9850 Balmoral Ave, Rosemount, IL. 60018

New this year at Impact Field is an amazing holiday experience. There are seven themed worlds, snow tubing, plus a holiday market, a candy shop and so much more! The Amaze Light Festival kicked off on November 19th. Tickets are recommended to be purchased in advance, they can be purchased here.
